Mobile Laptop Power Bank with AC Outlet Options

This one stays – Unlike a standard power bank, a model with an AC outlet lets you plug in your actual laptop charger, meaning it works with virtually any laptop without worrying about watt compatibility. Yes, they’re bulkier, but drop one in your carry-on or messenger bag and you have a truly location-independent office.

Why Lawyers/Paralegals Need This

Court waiting rooms/halls, airport gates, cafes, co-working spots without free outlets, or even outdoor work sessions – having your own power station means you are never scrambling to find a plug before a critical deadline.

Zelot 100-watt AC Power Adapter for Portable laptops, 31200 mAh Portable Laptop Charger, 65-watt PD USB C for Travel and Outdoor Activities – Enough juice for a full laptop charge with power to spare for your phone – great for local travel and outdoor setups. These are super fantastic for those nature days you’re okay with disconnecting from the internet and just needing to concentrate on reviewing or finalizing that draft Word document you have downloaded on your hard drive.

SinKeu 24000mAh Portable Power Bank with AC Outlet, 88.8Wh Portable Laptop Charger, Portable Power Station Outdoor Generators Portable for Home Backup Outdoor Emergency – Here’s a more wallet-friendly option. Still packs an AC outlet, multiple USB ports, and enough capacity for a full laptop charge. It is also a bit more compact, and lighter but still heavier than a non-ac outlet power bank:

Travel Tip: Airline regulations generally allow power banks up to 100Wh (about 27,000 mAh) in carry-on luggage. Always check with your airline before lying with higher-capacity models.

Portable Power Banks (Lightweight Options)

For everyday travel- the airport walk, the client site visit, the coffee shop – you don’t need to lug a power station. Sometimes it’s your phone or tablet that’s in emergency need for power, especially if you’re going to be out all day away from your office or home. A slim, power bank from your phone and tablet is the smarter companion then. Consider keeping one in your everyday bag/car bag/big pocket at all times.

If you don’t want to worry about missing your cable, try the Charmast Power Bank with Built-in Multi-Cables: 20,000 mAh with built-in cables for USB-C, Micro USB, and Lightning — so you can charge virtually any device without carrying extra cords. Enough capacity to keep your phone, tablet, and earbuds going through a full travel day. A practical, versatile pick for lawyers juggling multiple devices on the go. It comes in multiple colours:

Power Bank Travel Specifications

When choosing a power bank, consider its capacity, measured in milliamp hours (mAh) or watt-hours (Wh). For air travel, it’s crucial to stick to airline regulations. Power banks up to 100 Wh (about 27,000 mAh) are generally allowed in carry-on luggage. Look for models with multiple USB ports and smart charging capabilities for efficient, safe charging of all your devices. For travel adapters, opt for an all-in-one multi-port plug adapter that works in over 200 countries, saving you the hassle of carrying multiple adapters.

Universal Travel Adapter

Travel adapters are one of those things where the market genuinely improves year over year, and the options are better now. If you old adapter is a bulky single-outlet block, its worth upgrading to something that handles multiple device types simultaneously.

A Travel Tip from Personal Experience: All-in-one international adapters are convenient, but they come with a trade-off: their bulk can make them sit loosely in certain wall outlets — which is both annoying and not ideal for your devices. One thing that’s worked well when traveling internationally is emailing the hotel ahead of time to ask what ac outlet type they use. On a trip to Italy, for example, I found out that our hotel in Rome used the Type L outlet — those three straight dot-like prongs in a flat row. Having a slim, lightweight adapter specific to that type made a noticeable difference: it pressed in flush, sat securely, and didn’t pull on the outlet. Something worth trying, especially if you’re doing extended stays abroad.

That said, if you’re bouncing between countries or don’t know where you’re headed, a solid universal adapter is a practical default. Here are a few good options available on Amazon.ca:

VYLEE Power Strip Travel Adapter — EU/UK/US, 2 AC + 3 USB Ports, 5ft Extension Cord: A clever option that doubles as a compact power strip. Two AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and one USB-C port — all on a 5ft wrapped extension cord that gives you flexibility when the wall outlet isn’t conveniently placed. Covers EU, UK, and US plug types. Great for hotel rooms where you need to charge a laptop, phone, and tablet all at once from a single wall socket.

Ceptics World Travel Adapter Kit: A kit approach rather than a single all-in-one adapter — you get individual plug adapters for different regions, so each one is lighter and sits more securely in the wall outlet. A smart pick if you travel to the same regions regularly and want to avoid the looseness that can come with bulkier universal adapters.

Ceptics World Travel Adapter Kit – 2 USB + 2 US Outlets, Surge Protection, Plug for Europe, UK, China, Australia, Japan – Perfect for Laptop, Cell Phones (Does Not Convert Voltage) (WPS-2B+)

VINTAR Universal International Travel Adapter with USB Ports: A compact all-in-one adapter covering US, UK, EU, AU, and more — with USB ports built in so you can charge multiple devices from a single wall socket without needing a separate hub. A straightforward, no-fuss option if you want one adapter that handles most destinations without overthinking it.

Portable Second Monitor

This is one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades for lawyers working remotely that wasn’t widely accessible a few years ago but is now genuinely practical and affordable. If your work involves juggling a document and your email, referencing case law while drafting, or running a video call while reviewing notes, a second screen is transformative.

Portable monitors today connect via a single USB-C cable, weigh under 2 lbs, and fold into a protective sleeve that fits in your laptop bag. You can set one up in a hotel room, a rented co-working desk, or a client’s boardroom in under a minute.

The good news is that there are a lot of options. You have premium options as well as budget options. If you don’t want to spend over $100 – there are still solid options for under $100 on Amazon.ca.

MagicRaven Portable Monitor — 15.6″ 1080P– Budget Pick:

A great value option for those who don’t want to spend over $100 on an extra screen. Full HD 1080P display, dual USB-C ports, HDMI input, and built-in speakers. Works with MacBook, PC, PS4/5, Xbox, Switch, and phones. Lightweight and travel-ready — exactly what you need for setting up a second screen in a hotel room or co-working space. View on Amazon.ca →

ASUS ZenScreen MB16ACE 15.6″ Portable USB-C Monitor  – Professional Pick:

If you want to invest in a more premium option: the ZenScreen MB16ACE is a slim, lightweight 15.6″ Full HD IPS display powered entirely by a single USB-C cable — no external power brick needed. Remote Lawyer Idea: Pair a portable monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse (see below) and you have a full ergonomic workstation you can set up anywhere. This combination is becoming the standard remote work setup for digital nomad lawyers.

Wireless Travel Mouse

Your laptop’s trackpad gets the job done, but for hours of document review, research, and drafting, a proper mouse is a meaningful comfort upgrade. A compact wireless travel mouse slips easily into any bag and makes precision work — like reviewing dense PDFs or navigating legal software — much less fatiguing on your hand and wrist.

Logitech MX Anywhere 3S Wireless Mouse Compact and travel-sized, but with premium features: works on virtually any surface including glass, near-silent clicks so you’re not disruptive in quiet settings, USB-C rechargeable, and a MagSpeed scroll wheel for flying through long documents. A genuinely useful upgrade for any lawyer working away from their desk. Search on Amazon.ca →

Portable Printer

Portable Printer Benefits

There are moments on the road where a printed signature page, a hard copy of a settlement agreement, or a document for a client review is simply necessary. Not every client meeting location has a business centre nearby.

Portable Printer Features

Look for models with wireless connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for seamless printing from your smartphone or laptop. Battery life is crucial, so choose printers with extended power that can last through your workday. Many portable printers deliver sharp text and vibrant graphics, ensuring your documents always look professional.

For a relatively lightweight printer to go so you don’t have to rely on having to go to a business center when you’re on the go, Epson WorkForce WF-110 Wireless Mobile Printer may be a convenient choice. For those that want to for-go dealing with ink, but don’t mind getting thermal paper, then there are plenty of new wireless, inkless, lightweight thermal printers now including the Phomemo M832 Portable Thermal Printer, with Wireless Bluetooth Printer Supports. It is an inkless, thermal printer compatible with phones & laptops. I remember over 2 decades ago when my mother had a laptop printer that was just a lighter weight printer that required you to plug in still. Now there are a lot of great wireless options for when you really have to print something and you’re not at your office base or at home. Remember, the best choice depends on your specific needs and travel habits!

Portable Electronics Travel Organizer

Portable Electronics Travel Organizer with Double Layer Design – Waterproof Electronic Organizer to Hold USB Flash Drive, Cords, Chargers, Phones, Earphones, Power Banks, Mouse, and SD Card

Anyone who has ever dug through a bag trying to find a charging cable, adapters, earbuds and a USB drive before a flight knows this pain. There are plenty of travel friendly Portable Electronics Travel Organizers to help you organize all your cables and small devices like your wireless ear buds. Remember, the best choice depends on your specific needs and travel habits!

Wireless Earbuds with ANC

We’ve swapped out the over-ear noise-cancelling headphone section for earbuds, because for a lawyer on the go, portability matters. A compact pair of wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation lets you take client calls, listen to dictation, or block out café noise — all without the bulk of full-size cans.

Earbuds with noise-cancelling mics have matured significantly. The Sony WF-1000XM5, the Apple AirPods Pro 2, and the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro are all strong options with excellent call quality and ANC. For Canadian Amazon shoppers, all three are readily available.

Sony WF-1000XM5 True Wireless Earbuds

Industry-leading noise cancellation in a compact form. Exceptional call quality with AI-powered noise rejection on the microphone — a real advantage for client calls from busy locations. Up to 8 hours battery + 16 more in the case. Search on Amazon.ca →

Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro

A more affordable ANC option that doesn’t skimp on call clarity. Multi-point connection (phone + laptop simultaneously). Great for lawyers who want solid performance without the premium price tag. Search on Amazon.ca →

Final Thoughts?

The remote and travel work landscape for lawyers has genuinely improved. The tools available today — from portable second monitors to GaN travel adapters that charge your laptop, phone, and tablet from one compact brick — are meaningfully better than even two years ago.

The core philosophy remains the same: invest in gear that removes friction. If a tool lets you stay focused on the legal work rather than hunting for outlets, squinting at a single small screen, or struggling to be heard on a call, it earns its place in your bag.
