... Is the same reaction every single person who h ... Is the same reaction every single person who has actually opened the materials has had.

Because let's be real: if these exams were that easy, no one would be crying into their binders, drowning in PDFs or questioning every life choice that led them here.

And here's something people don't talk about enough: Not everyone passes the first time-and that doesn't mean they're not smart, capable or meant to be a lawyer.

The truth? They're not "easy" but they're doable - with clarity, strategy, and studying in a way that actually works.

If you need clarity, direction and a roadmap that cuts through the chaos then that's why my Ontario Bar Exam study guide was created.
You're not behind. You're not alone. And you're absolutely capable. 🔗Link in Bio.

🐣 Happy Easter! 🐰 🐣 Happy Easter! 🐰
I'm proud of the work I've done to help others, th I'm proud of the work I've done to help others, the skills I've unlocked and improved upon, and gotten to a place I never thought I would.
But I still feel it's not enough, it's never enough... I haven't proved myself, I have but I haven't 🤷... I haven't learned areas or gotten the experience I want and so I still don't have what it takes to get what I want... I still feel like I need to work to get there, and I work hard but I'm still not there yet..
I'm tired and exhausted but it's not enough... But I am proud of myself for what I have gotten through...

If my story sounds familiar here, let me know. As a young (early career) legal professional, you'll enjoy my blog and my personal career stories on www.ginnylawblogs.com (🔗Link in bio) & give me a follow.

Because sometimes "done" is actually enough - even Because sometimes "done" is actually enough - even if the perfectionist in me wants to add 12 more edits, reformat the whole thing, and rewrite the conclusion. This season is about trusting my work, not torturing it. Done is still done. And done is allowed to be good.

Your career path doesn’t have to be linear. Maybe Your career path doesn’t have to be linear.

Maybe your legal journey didn’t follow the “expected” route—OCIs, summer internship, hireback, articles, then associate at the same firm which led to becoming addicted to your work and area of practice. And that’s okay. It doesn’t make you any less.

Sometimes life throws curveballs. Sometimes we take detours, pause, pivot, or rebuild. Sometimes the doors we thought would open don’t—and we’re pushed to create our own.

Not hitting every traditional milestone doesn’t mean you won’t build a meaningful, successful, or fulfilling career or life. It just means your path is yours.

I’ve faced unexpected turns, obstacles, rejections, and intentional changes that shaped both my career and my life - but as a result came growth.

If you feel like you're drowning in the Ontario Ba If you feel like you're drowning in the Ontario Bar Exam materials, you're not imagining it-the volume is actually wild. I know it's easy to put off and then think that you can start when the exam gets closer but you're only going to overwhelm yourself.

Starting early and having a roadmap or guide to get down to understanding how to plan to prepare helps you stay sane. You don't need to stress harder, drown further - you can get direction.

The way people love to skip straight to the "you'l The way people love to skip straight to the "you'll be fine" part...

If you've ever felt behind, confused, or like you're the only one not "figuring it out," I promise you're not.

As a foreign-trained woman lawyer in Canada, I've been there... In my early days I sometimes resented hearing "You'll figure it out" but I also now catch myself saying it- not because I have nothing to offer but because I know how much of this professional journey is trial, error, growth... Even years later, you're still learning, still adjusting and figuring it out. If you want to see what that looked like in my own career, follow and subscribe to my blog with free articles. I write about the messy, the wins, the pivots, the lessons...

I'm not saying don't read everything but it's not I'm not saying don't read everything but it's not enough to rely solely on having read the materials to pass the bar exams. You're not expected to memorize everything - it's not realistic. The Ontario bar exams are open book for a reason... Unless you have photographic memory, which many of us don't have, you're not going to be memorizing everything. You don't need to memorize... what you need is structure, organization and a plan to provide the most accurate answer to every question with the clock ticking down.

The overwhelm you're feeling isn't a personal failure - it's the natural reaction to being handed thousands of pages with zero direction.

When you're answering a question, are you confident having eliminated every other answer knowing there can only be 1 correct answer? Have you checked or are you just panicked you won't have time to? If you're looking for some guidance on how to do this, then consider Ginny's Ontario Bar Exam Study Guide which covers this. 🔗In bio.
